Can I stay employed with CYS when the military moves my Family?
Yes! Child and Youth Program Assistants (CYPAs) in all employment categories can now request a transfer to another installation through the CYS Employee Assignment Tool (CEAT).
How does CEAT work?
Once your Family has orders to move, get a CEAT link from your supervisor or local NAF HR office. You fill out a quick online questionnaire, then have your supervisor complete a form. NAF HR will handle it from there. In many cases, you’ll have a job waiting for you when you arrive at your new home.
Do my background checks follow me to my new location?
Yes. When you accept a new position under CEAT, the gaining NAF HR office will verify your previous background checks.
Do I have to resign before moving?
No. CEAT allows you to continue with CYS without a break in service. Even if it takes a little while to get settled, you’re authorized one year leave without pay to look for a job.
Do I have to meet any eligibility requirements to register?
The CEAT is available to all current CYPA’s in all employment categories and signing up for the transfer is voluntary. If you had a performance evaluation of “Satisfactory” or higher and no disciplinary/adverse actions within 12 months of initiating the transfer request (employees with disciplinary/adverse actions that are under appeal are not eligible to request transfer through the CEAT until the appeal is resolved) you are eligible to register.
